opportunity with a major Canadian geotechnical company.
A major Ontario-based geotechnical,
environmental consulting and
engineering firm, with over 170
engineers, has recently made a
strategic decision to create a
significant presence in Western
Canada by establishing its initial
office in Calgary Alberta. As
part of its Western Canadian
business strategy, the firm recently
acquired a well regarded Calgary
based geotechnical company
that is focused primarily on
providing geotechnical services to
the pipeline industry. The
challenge now confronting our client
is to expand the geotechnical
services offered to a wider range
of clients in Western Canada as it
moves towards its goal of
becoming a major player in the
Western Canadian geotechnical
market place. In order to
accomplish this goal, our client
requires an individual to be
the key leader for its business thrust
in Western Canada. The newly
minted executive position of
Vice-President Western Canada has
been created to achieve this
purpose. This position will report
directly to the President.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Working closely with the President,
the individual will:
-Lead in creating and
implementing business development
strategies aimed at building
and expanded client base in
Western Canada.
- Build an organization and staff
resources required in the
geotechnical area to meet
client requirements.
- Provide general management
required to manage the
business successfully.
- Work to successfully integrate
the newly acquired Calgary
based pipeline focused
geotechnical company into an
expanded geotechnical company
in Calgary.
Qualifications:
- P.Eng., Geotechnical or
Civil
- 10 years plus consulting
engineering experience in the
geotechnical area,
preferably in Western Canada.
- A demonstrated record of strong
management and leadership
capability.
- Excellent business development
skills.
- An entrepreneurial passion for
growing a successful business.
- A team player that can work
effectively as part of an executive
team expanding its business
