Project Manager, Asset Management
Position Challenge /
Qualification Profile
Position Summary: Reporting
to the Vice President, Western Canada, your main focus
will be providing asset management services to the
Calgary branch.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide client with asset management services,
including work on: facilitation of infrastructure
studies; long and short term needs studies;
infrastructure condition assessments; policy and long
range infrastructure planning (including roads,
bridges and culverts, railway level crossings, storm
drainage facilities, sanitary sewers, water
distribution services, lighting, signals, signs and
pavement markings)
- Prepare documentation related to current or
prospective projects, including
correspondence, reports, proposals, expressions of
interest, specifications and meeting minutes
- Communicate and work with other project team
members to provide quality and timely service to
clients to ensure that all the documentation conforms
to client/company standards
- Promote the company to current and potential
clients in order to generate future business
- Liase with and assist other departments and
offices in the provision of developing and fulfilling
the goals of the asset management team
- Other duties may include:
- Pre-engineering
design and preparation of contract documents and
specifications for municipal road projects
- Administration of pre-engineering surveys, design
and preparation of reports including cost estimates
and frontage charges for water, sanitary sewers, storm
sewers and road reconstruction projects
- Design and supervision of construction of municipal
services
- Design and supervision of construction of site
development contracts including roads and parking
areas, drainage works and underground services
- Preparation of proposals and fee estimates for
design projects
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil
Engineering
- Master's degree in Transportation Engineering (preferred)
- Registered Professional Engineer in Alberta
(APEGGA), or eligible for registration
- Five years experience in an Engineering Consulting
or Municipal public works environment working on an
asset management team
- Strategic, analytical and practical thinker
- Excellent presentation, facilitation and writing
skills
- Excellent project management skills
- Strong leadership and consensus building skills
- Business development and strategic planning
experience
- Proven track record in developing and growing an
asset management program
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
(Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
- Mapping/GIS skills (preferred)
- Previous consulting experience an asset
- Valid Driver's License
